The ivory and the gear

This is a "thought short", a random/semi-random thought that I came up with... so don't pick holes in my analogies please. :)

Would you rather be a cog in a machine or a piano key under the direction of a pianist? Neither has free will, each is simply a piece of something else, without real choice. The cog in a machine is without freedom, it simply does what it must without any decision making. The key's function can change, so thus choice might appear to exist, but does that choice really exist?

Blog Creation/Introduction Post

Well I've now gotten a blog, finally, which I plan to host here as well as elsewhere. I have two reasons for starting a blog. One is to publish whatever profound/miscellaneous stuff I think up, and the other is to share resources and experience that I obtain through my life and/or through my trawling of the web in search of information on various things. So let's get on with it...... :)
